 What's cold-pressed coconut oil? 
As the name suggests, cold-pressed coconut oil is made without any heat. The coconut meat is scooped out and pressed so that you're left with pure coconut oil. As with all food processing, the addition of heat reduces the antioxidant content of refined coconut oil
Is cold-pressed coconut oil better? 
While cold-pressing extracts the least amount of Coconut Oil compared to expeller pressing (below) and is also a very expensive process, this method is the only one that can produce the highest quality of Coconut Oil. There are two main kinds of coconut oil: refined and unrefined. Refined oils are possess no coconut flavor or aroma. They are produced from dried copra, not fresh coconuts, and the oil typically undergoes various levels of processing, including being deodorized and bleached. Unrefined coconut oil is normally considered virgin and it possesses a light coconut taste and aroma, that will vary from brand to brand. This mostly depends on the freshness of the coconut used and type of processing it was subjected to.

How do I recognize the quality of cold-pressed oil? 

By its color: it’s not too light and not too dark. Translucent oil has generally been refined and oil that is too dark indicates that it has been preheated or pressed at a high temperature. By its aroma: Furthermore, the taste and aroma of the oil must be reminiscent of the oilseed used. It is important for the oil to be in a dark glass container (inert material) with a clearly-indicated expiry date. 

Which oils can be heated in the pan? 

Coconut oil can be heated in the PAN for cooking. Groundnut Oil can be used for deep frying. Sesame / Gingelly oils are recommended for light sautes. Do not overheat the oil (when exposed to a temperature that is too high, a noxious smoke emanates from the oil). 

Which type of wood is used in Marachekku?
The oil from wooden churner is extracted using the means of Ayurvedas the wood used in the churner is made of selected Vaghai / Neem / Babool / Mango trees as suggested by Ayurveda Rishis.
